| Description (Service) | Volunteer fire department is on call 24 hours a day to respond to emergency situations. Over 124 firefighters provide vehicle rescue, pre-hospital medical response, water rescue and fire protection services. Service comes from 10 fire stations in Foots Bay, Glen Orchard, Bala, Torrance, Walkers Point, Minett, Port Carling, Windermere, Raymond, and Milford Bay. The Township has a automatic mutual aid agreements with Seguin Township, Township of Georgian Bay and the Town of Huntsville to provide fire protection services in its remote areas. The Township of Muskoka Lakes has identified the following facilities in the emergency plan for use as evacuation centres. 1. Port Carling Community Centre (Evacuation centre) 2. Torrance Community Centre (Warming Centre/Cooling Centre) 3. Hekkla Community Centre (Warming Centre/Cooling Centre) 4. Port Carling Arena (Evacuation Overflow) 5. Milford Bay Community Centre (Evacuation centre) |
