Description (Service) | COVID-19 Response The Community Volunteer Income Tax Program is now being offered virtually. Residents can complete their online appointment request form here. They will be contacted within five business days to arrange an appointment to complete their tax return. Contact the tax team at 705-645-2412 ext 4348 or by email at taxclinics@muskoka.on.ca if you have any questions. Eligibility | Muskoka Seniors Clinic: seniors and those in receipt of CPP and a resident of Muskoka District Suggested maximum income levels should serve as a guideline only. Single Up to $35,000 Couple Up to $45,000 (combined income of a couple, or one adult with one child under 18) * add $2,500 for each additional dependent child in the family Volunteers do not prepare tax returns for complex situations such as: * returns for deceased persons; * individuals who file for bankruptcy; * self-employed individuals; * individuals who report capital gains or losses; or * individuals who report employment expenses, or business or rental income and expenses. Eligible taxpayers normally served by the CVITP include: * Aboriginal peoples; * Low-income individuals and social assistance recipients; * Newcomers to Canada; * Seniors; and * Students. |
