Provides food and/or vouchers, clothing and household items vouchers to those in need.

  • Calls returned Mon-Fri within 24 hours
  • Food vouchers are to one of three Port Hope grocery stores
  • Resources are limited to one call every 3 months; requests are dealt with on a case by case basis
  • The on-call team also handles requests for clothing, furniture and household items. These items are available through the SSVP Store in Bowmanville. Forms for items are provided to the applicant and the applicant presents those forms at the Store.
  • Requests for other assistance may be made and are handled on a case by case basis and available resources.

Hours Telephone requests through on-call team: Mon-Thu 9 am-5 pm, Fri 9 am to 1 pm

Eligibility Residents in the Port Hope area (Wards 1 and 2)
Application Call and leave message on the answering machine. The on-call team will contact applicants to complete an initial intake form. The information collected includes names and address of adults, the names of children, their ages and school they attend (if applicable) and the family income and expenses.
