Description

Description (Service) Walk-in counselling clinic.
  • This clinic is a walk-in counselling option for children, youth and adults (aged 7 and up); youth over the age of 12 do not require parent/guardian consent but those younger than 12 should be accompanied by a parent
  • Clinic operates two days/week, Tuesday (8AM to 4PM) and Thursday (10AM to 6PM)
  • Doctor's referral is not required.
  • All individuals seen on a first-come, first-served basis at NHH's Community Mental Health Services office.
  • Clients with access to a phone are recommended to call the dedicated Walk-In phone line (905-377-7784) and leave a message with: name, date of birth, phone number and request for a walk-in spot. Walk-in's are also welcome, but spaces can fill up quickly so calling is recommended.
  • Clients of the walk-in meet briefly with a case manager to identify goals for the walk-in session, and majority will attend a same-day session with a therapist
  • Service is offered through partnership between Northumberland Hills Hospital Community Mental Health Services, Rebound Child & Youth Services and the Community Health Centres of Northumberland
  • Crisis and/or hospital support, or additional referrals coordinated
  • In the event that need exceeds available staff on any given day, individuals will be asked to return on the next day of service for assistance
  • There is no limit to the number of times an individual may access the Walk-In Counselling Clinic
