Period Promise aims to address the issue of period poverty in the community and increase the accessibility of products to all people who experience a period.

• Products are distributed through service organizations throughout the County
• Donation can be dropped off at Northumberland United Way
• Funded locally by Northumberland United Way and Thrive Northumberland

Northumberland United Way's Period Promise Program provides free menstrual and hygiene products without shame, stigma, or barriers. The program operates through two streams:

• Period Promise Cabinets are placed at partner non-profit locations and restocked quarterly with 40 dignity kits (one-month supply each) plus donated hygiene products; and the Designated Distribution Network where approved organizations receive various kit sizes (1-month Dignity Kits, 3-month Care Kits, or 6-month Organizational Kits) based on donor contributions and community need.
• Partner organizations can apply to host cabinets or join the distribution network. Serves individuals across Northumberland County who need access to menstrual products, promoting dignity and removing barriers to opportunity.
