Description (Service) | All classes currently offered online. Call or email to find out the next cohort start date, or check out our website, connect2SKILLS.ca Free training geared to preparing participants for jobs in manufacturing, hospitality and tourism, and construction in Perth and Huron Counties. Paid job placement at the end of the training. 6 weeks training - 4 weeks in class training and 2 weeks paid job placement. Construction is 3 weeks online and 3 weeks in person plus a 2 week placement. Includes computer support, work supplies and coaching. Up to 12 months of training and support. Manufacturing training program includes Lean & 5S Procedures, Lockout/Tagout, WHMIS, Health & Safety Awareness Construction training program includes Working at Heights, Confined Spaces, WHMIS, Health & Safety Awareness and is 6 weeks training with 3 weeks in class training and 3 weeks paid job placement Hospitality & Tourism Employee Skills Enhancement training includes customer service excellence, safe food handling, SmartServe, WHMIS, workplace mental health awareness and respect & inclusion in the workplace. |

Eligibility | Ages: 18 year(s) and up Unemployed or working less that 20 hours/week. Not in school or enrolled in another training program. Legal to work in Canada. Have photo ID. Physically able and willing to work, stable internet connection and access to a computer with a webcam to take part in online training. Must be available Monday to Friday from 9 - 3:30. Do not have to be referred or on social assistance. Require basic computer skills, speak and understand English. |
