Description (Service) COVID19 Funding available to support residential, small business and charitable organization customers that are struggling to pay their energy bills as a result of the COVID-19 emergency (CEAP and CEAP-SB). A one time, on-bill credit. Apply through electricity and natural gas utilities or unit sub-meter providers (USMPs). Applications begin Aug 31, 2020. Funding is limited, applications processed in order received and submitting an application does not guarantee funding. For full details HERE

COVID19 Energy Assistance Program one-time, on-bill credit to eligible residential electricity customers up to a maximum of $115. If customer's home is heated primarily by electricity or an energy intensive medical device like a dialysis machine, mechanical ventilator or oxygen concentrator is used in the home customers could be eligible for a credit up to a maximum of $230. COVID19 Energy Assistance Program for Small Business and Registered Charity one-time on-bill credit to small businesses and registered charities up to a maximum of $850 for those who primarily use electricity for heating or up to $425 if electricity is not the main heat source. Details HERE

Programs that provide financial assistance for people who are at risk of having their utilities cut of and have exhausted all other sources of financial assistance. Emergency Financial Assistance provides emergency relief to eligible low-income customers experiencing difficulty paying current arrears. Funds are applied to outstanding utility bill payments, not to security deposit payments due. Does not provide regular or ongoing bill payment assistance.

Hydro One -funds available through LEAP. Call 1-855-487-5327. Administered through United Way Greater Simcoe County in Barrie for all of Ontario. LEAP (Low Energy Assistance Program) provides emergency assistance for eligible low-income customers, including recipients of OW and ODSP

Winter Warmth Program provides one-time grants to low income families who have utility accounts with the former Union Gas, that are in arrears or are faced with threat of disconnection. Administered through United Way Simcoe Muskoka for all of Ontario - call 1-855-487-5327 dial 1 to start application process. If eligible, Winter Warmth may grant a maximum of $500, provided that the account is left at a zero balance. If the account has a balance of $700 a payment of $200 must be made in order to receive the $500 grant * does not cover reconnection or deferred payment fees.

LEAP for hydro assistance
Low-income Energy Support Program (LEAP) - click here If you're behind on your electricity or natural gas bill or face having your service disconnected, you may qualify for emergency financial help through LEAP. Please note for Festival Hydro customers, this does not cover water or sewage fees. Support is available from the City of Stratford Social Services, 519-271-3773 Ext 200. Hydro Only Customers who are deemed low income according to LICO chart will have their security deposit waived for 2 years whether they need assistance with payment of their bill or not.

Ontario Electricty Support Program (OESP) - monthly discount on hydro bills through Ontario Energy Board. Call 1-855-831-8151 for application.
