CASE is designed to meet the needs and concerns of families and students who may not have been participating in public education previous to secondary schooling. CASE operates as a semester program, separate from the mainstream program at Listowel District Secondary School, covering grades 9-12. A full range of academic levels is offered to prepare students for a wide variety of career options, including college programs and apprenticeships.

Students combine two days per week of scheduled academic studies with cooperative education placements in the community, graduating with an Ontario Secondary School Diploma. CASE can participate in technical training, participation in the Ontario Youth Apprenticeship Program, Specialist High Skills Majors, and co-op placements in specialty areas such as healthcare, business, and the trades.
