Description (Service)

Volunteer Visiting is a support program which matches a volunteer with a senior, a person with a disability or chronic illness living in the community who is isolated, lonely or could just use a friend.

The service is dependent on a successful match with a community volunteer.  We assess the need and consider interests of the client and volunteer to make every effort for a compatible match.

Volunteers have been screened and trained for this role.
Regular or bi-weekly visits occur in the client’s home for conversation or activities of interst like cards, games or walking.

The Volunteer CANNOT do medication reminders, complete any personal care or housekeeping tasks, drive the client’s car or be a passenger in the client’s car.
