Description (Service) Structured program sessions offered in the fall, winter and spring to educate parents throughout the community at various locations and times (pending enrollment). Childcare available for day programs only.Programs available include:
  • Circle of Security - an 8- week program on strengthening and supporting parent - child relationships.
  • Early Language Workships
  • Small Wonders Baby Time - a 6-week interactive learning program for infants/toddlers and their parents
  • Well Rounded Parenting with Self-Care - four-week program focusing on identifying harmful patterns and implementing healthy nutrition and lifestyle habits. Uses wellness perspectives to gain more insight into controlling everyday stressors and becoming a more well-rounded parent
  • Smart Sense - six-week program focusing on awareness in making healthy choices in daily life activities. Topics covered include healthy eating/living, personal wellness, stress management, shopping on a budget, organizational/cleaning skills and communication
  • Behavior at Its Best (2 to 10 years) - four-week program focusing on behavior management and relationship building. Topics covered include understanding the relationship between the parent and the child, repairing the relationship, understanding emerging behaviors and managing emotional regulation
  • Cyber-Safety Workshop - detailed information regarding today's "digital generation" and the challenges children and youth face. An abundance of information to help equip parents and caregivers to take on these challenges that involve social media, on-line safety, cyber bullying and more.
  • Raising Your Spirited Child - four-week program to educate parents on the temperamental traits of children who are more intense, sensitive, perceptive, persistent and energetic
  • Making the Connection (Teens) - six-week program to educate parents on how to provide guidance and encourage independence in children 12-18 years.
  • For the Sake of My Kids (Single and Co-parenting) - four-week program linked to separation and the impact on children and youth. Offers insight on how children and youth process separation and the effects negative dialogue between parents can have on self-esteem and self-worth. Learn a variety of personal coping methods to better prepare to be single parents and helpful tools to create a positive and mature relationship as a co-parent.
  • Mindfully Parenting - four-week program focusing on a mindful approach to discipline without yelling, shame, blame or pain. Promote a deeper understanding of parents themselves, their triggers and how to manage them. Learn how to connect with children in simple, playful ways.
