Description (Service) | Breastmilk is the natural food for babies. It contains everything your baby needs. Health Canada recommends feeding your baby only breastmilk for the first six months. At six months, begin to introduce solid foods and continue breastfeeding for up to two years and beyond. Breastfeeding moms can call at any time, day or night, to receive support from the staff on the Maternal Child Unit. Nursing staff will accommodate questions and can be reached at 519-272-8232 or toll free 1-888-275-1102 Ext 8232. Breastfeeding Clinic - *Service Update* In keeping with our COVID-19 pandemic response, call to book an appointment for our breastfeeding clinic. Lactation Consultants are available for support by in-person appointment or over the phone Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays from 9 a.m. - 12 p.m. At this time, we are unable to accommodate partners. If assistance is required for transportation of baby with mom to the clinic from the Main Entrance, please let our screening staff know upon entry and they will be happy to assist.
