Description

Description (Service) TRACKS (TRent Aboriginal Cultural Knowledge and Science) is an educational program which provides hands-on experiences for youth interested in the intersections of Indigenous and western sciences.
  • Hosted by Trent University within the Indigenous Environmental Studies and Sciences Program (IESS), and operates in partnership with the Kawartha World Issues Centre and First People's House of Learning.
  • Consists of two distinct but connected programs: Outreach & Education and Oshkwazin Indigenous Youth Leadership Program.
    • Outreach & Education Program for ages 6-12 (school workshops, camp programs, etc.)
    • Oshkwazin Program for Indigenous youth ages 13-17 (school & community workshops, events, etc.)
    • Camp experiences at Trent University and in First Nations communities during the summer months

  • All programming is hands-on, experiential and combines both Indigenous knowledge and scientific principles.
