| Description (Service) | Recreational and social programs for individuals with Down syndrome and their families to enrich their lives and reach their fullest potential by providing encouragement and support while participating in all aspects of community life Programs: Dinner, Dance and Friends - social event where teens and adults come together, have dinner and dance the night away Bowling - afternoon socializing followed with a snack at Tim Hortons Movies - open to all ages including adults - provides an opportunity to practice social skills and learn new ones such as reading bus schedule, understanding how to use the bus and safe practice opportunities. Karate - 6-8 week sessions followed with pizza with friends afterwards - focused on self defense Breakdancing - 8 week block for individuals with Down Syndrome for the physical dance portion and to encourage self-expression and confidence Art, Music and Drama Clubs - 8 sessions, typically through the winter months focused on learning to sing a few song, planning on performing a play or the creation of different art works using different medias Family Events:
