Description (Service) | COVID19 In-person services suspended at all office and court locations * Applications for legal aid available by phone Mon-Fri 9 am-5 pm 1-800-668-8258. * Visit visit legalaid.on.ca/covid-19 for up to date information on legal aid services Lawyers provide immediate legal assistance to low-income individuals who appear in family or criminal court without a lawyer including: * information about legal rights, obligation and the court process * assistance in the courtroom for bail hearings and sentencing * assistance with diversions, guilty pleas and sentencing * helps determine if further duty counsel services are required or if the matter requires Legal Aid Ontario’s assistance in retaining a lawyer Family Law Information Centre (FLIC) is offered here 2 mornings each week for summary legal advice on family matters. |
