Description (Service)

Provides backpacks filled with essential school supplies to primary, elementary and secondary students, as well as adult learners and new Canadians who are in need of a hand up at the start of the school year

Aims to ensure that all students go to school with the necessary tools to succeed socially and academically
Backpacks are distributed at individual schools and community organizations through a cooperative and coordinated effort of school boards, principals and staff
Donations for this program come from individuals, municipalities, service clubs and union locals.

Hours	Office: Sep-Jun: Mon-Fri 9 am-5 pm Jul-Aug: Mon-Thu 9 am-5 pm, Fri 9 am-12 noon Dates: Schools order their backpacks through United Way in the Spring for pick up at the end of Aug

Application	Parents and guardians wishing to sign-up their children apply through student's school. Contact school to be put on the school's order form for backpacks
