| Description (Service) | Provides supervision in the community as an alternative to custody while awaiting trial * Serves individuals who have been charged with a criminal offense and do not have the social ties or finances to meet bail conditions. * aims to identify the availability of a surety * provides verified, neutral and factual information about an accused person at judicial interim release proceedings, to assist the court in selecting suitable candidates for bail and bail supervision * provides supervisory, counselling and referral services for people who are released from custody by the courts and are directed to participate in the program Does not provide legal advice or make recommendations regarding legal representation |
