| Description (Service) | COVID19 Adult Protective Service Workers are regularly reaching out by phone, text and email to people who are receiving services and those on the waitlist. * Virtual services and updates on ZOOM, Bluejeans, Facetime and WhatsApp platforms The program assists developmentally disabled adults living substantially on their own in the community to live as independently and as safely as possible. Service is voluntary and the individual directs and determines what support is required. Services include: * Case Management * Assistance with budgeting * Coordinating medical or dental appointments * Referrals to resources such as housing, education, employment and professional counselling * Assistance to obtain appropriate assessments to aid in planning * Support for involvement with the legal system * Assistance to find support for daily activities * Support to develop the skills in learning how to advocate for themselves |
