Description

Description (Service) Promotes connections in the community and the development of relationships for young people living with disabilities.
  • Promotes the inclusion and participation of all youth within their schools and communities, with a particular focus on youth living with disabilities
  • Shares information with community agencies, organizations, individuals and other interested parties to promote inclusion
  • Maintains information about resources relating to inclusion
  • Provides training and educational opportunities for youth and people associated with youth to enable them to create more inclusive environments in their schools and communities and participate in peer education
  • Offers inclusion workshops and advocacy
Amigos Program is an in-school inclusion program targeting youth who experience significant barriers to inclusion, with special priority given to students who are living with a disability. Provides peer support and mentorship by matching students who face barriers to inclusion together with students who are well-connected and supportive of others

Amigos in the Community Program is a peer mentoring program for young adults. Matches volunteer connectors with leadership skills and people who have barriers to inclusion, with or without disabilities. Holds bi-monthly group events to provide opportunities for inclusive socializing

Abiliities and Inclusion Network is an initiative that brings together local organizations and service providers, to build a more inclusive and collaborative community, that serves persons with barriers in a more meaningful way.
