Description
Description (Service) One of 16 regional literacy networks in Ontario that supports and promotes the work of adult literacy agencies. The LOCS Region includes City of Kawartha Lakes, Haliburton, Northumberland, Peterborough and Hastings County. 
 
* Facilitates Literacy Service Community Planning in each community 
* Acts as an information centre for regional issues, resources and Ministry of Colleges and Universities initiatives 
* Co-ordinates and manages literacy development projects 
* Provides public education and awareness 
* Builds partnerships in the community with agencies including: Adult Education & Training; Workforce Development Board; Social Services - Ontario Works, ODSP; Employment Services.

Eligibility Ages: 19 year(s) and up 
 
Agencies with programs as outlined, or having an interest in literacy issues * Adults 19 years and older who would like information on literacy or basic skills upgrading.
