Description (Service) Provides protection services for children and youth, including: 
* Assessment and investigation of situations where a child may be deemed to be at risk of physical, sexual or emotional harm or abuse, or in situations of neglect.  
* Adolescent Service - parent-teen conflict, crisis intervention and referral service when appropriate. Child Management - practical assistance with child management and parenting in cases where child is at risk 
* Pregnancy Planning - counselling towards decision regarding pending birth of a child to a single parent 
* Adoption Service - assessment, counselling, placement of children in adoptive homes.  
* Residential Care - when necessary - to protect a child from harm in the home 
* Temporary relief for parents on a planned basis to alleviate stress when receiving counselling 
* Also provides an Adoption Disclosure Service to adult adoptees in accordance with relevant legislation
