| Description (Service) | Provide midwifery care services including prenatal care, labour and birth attendance (either at home, Peterborough Regional Health Centre, or Clinic), and postpartum care (including breastfeeding support) for six weeks after birth for mother and baby. The midwifery scope of practice is a normal, healthy pregnancy and childbirth within an informed choice setting. Midwives are legislated as primary care providers and covered by OHIP. |
