Description (Service) Provides general information to the public and supports, assessment and treatment to individuals affected by arthritis.

Offers occupational therapy services in a clinic environment, home, workplace and school visits as required. Clients can learn:
  • to manage pain
  • about medication
  • exercises to reduce stiffness, increase strength and improve fitness
  • energy conservation and joint protection
  • ways to cope with the emotional impact of arthritis
  • how their families can help
  • ways to adapt their homes and workplaces
Clinics are held weekly in Peterborough and monthly in Cobourg, Campbellford, Lindsay, Haliburton, Kinmount and Port Hope. Appointment is required
  • visit website for educational materials and on-line self management programs for people with arthritis
Also offers:
  • professional education to medical and paramedical groups
  • education and skills needed to manage arthritis through occupational therapist-led programs Osteoarthritis of the Hand and Stay Active - Manage Osteoarthritis Pain
