On-site early intervention and crisis intervention, needs assessment, safety planning, referrals to community services, enhanced support for vulnerable victims, assistance with applications to VQRP+.
Victim Quick Response Program+ (VQRP+) --

  • assistance with emergency expenses related to the incident, including home safety, accommodation, meals, transportation, basic necessities, dependent care costs, counselling, traditional Indigenous health services, cellular phones, vision care, dental care, aid for victims with disabilities, interpretation services, crime scene cleanup, government/medical documents and funeral expenses
  • additional assistance for victims of human trafficking includes storage locker, tattoo removal, and treatment at a recovery facility
  • no direct reimbursement to victims for support listed above
  • financial support also available for victims who sustained serious physical injuries during a crime and for parents of child homicide victims and spouses of homicide victims

Family Court Support Worker Program --

  • Assist in navigating the Family Court Process
  • Accompaniment to court if needed
  • Connecting with lawyers and assisting in the legal aid process
  • Helping client to understand court forms, processes and procedures
  • Assisting in keeping a record of abuse for court purpose
  • Debriefing and discussing court outcomes

May be eligible for 2 hour session with lawyer through Luke's Place

Eligibility VQRP eligibility:
  • A victim who is suffering from emotional and/or physical harm as a result of a crime
  • has reported a violent criminal code offence that occurred in Ontario to a Police Services in the Province of Ontario, or; in cases of domestic violence or sexual assault to a hospital or community agency that provides support to these victims in the Province of Ontario.
  • is a resident of Ontario
  • is not charged in the offence
  • has no other financial resources available to meet their needs
  • an immediate family member applying on behalf of a victim
  • the custodial guardian of a victim who is a minor child
  • an individual with legal authority to act on behalf of a victim who has special needs
  • Application Referral by police, emergency services, community agency or self referral
