Description (Service) Community health service promotes and protects the health of the community. Offers a wide range of clinics, classes and courses. Programs include:  
* Prenatal and parent-child support programs 
* Prenatal nutrition 
* Breastfeeding clinics 
* Speech and language services 
* School health programs including school clinics 
* Financial assistance through the CINOT program (Children in Need of Treatment) to cover the cost of urgent dental care for children in eligible low-income families  
* Healthy Smiles Ontario Program 
* Immunization clinics  
* Food handler training and certification  
* Sexual health clinics - free and confidential services including birth control options, sexually transmitted infection (STI) testing and treatment, pregnancy tests and counselling, Hepatitis A and B immunizations, anonymous HIV tests 
* Harm Reduction services including needle exchange program, counselling and referrals, Hepatitis B and Hepatitis C testing 
Public Health is also responsible for:  
* Investigation, reporting and control of infectious diseases 
* Food premises inspection 
* Investigation of air quality concerns in public buildings, schools or rented dwellings 
* Monitoring the quality of drinking and recreational water and testing private well water  
* Information and investigation of any situation where the public's health may be affected
