Description (Service) The Ontario Heritage Trust is dedicated to identifying, preserving, protecting and promoting Ontario's heritage. 
* Holds in trust 27 built heritage sites, over 160 natural heritage properties, cultural and archaeological artifacts 
* Holds heritage conservation easements -- voluntary legal agreements between heritage property owners and the Trust that protect significant features of properties.  
* Works to promote greater public awareness of historically significant people, places, buildings and events through the Provincial Plaque Program and undertakes special initiatives to encourage public participation and appreciation of Ontario's heritage through such successful programs as Doors Open Ontario (www.doorsopenontario.on.ca).
