Description

Description (Service) As part of the Health Unit's Environmental Health program, Public Health Inspectors work to protect members of the community in various settings.
  • inspects food premises and helps train kitchen staff on safe food handling practices
  • inspects daycare and personal service sites
  • provides information about water quality results and the maintenance of wells
  • tests the water of area beaches for safety
  • investigates animal bite incidents for potential exposure to rabies and provides information and education on the need to ensure pets are vaccinated against rabies
  • provides information about protecting yourself against West Nile Virus, Lyme Disease and other illnesses
