Description

Description (Service) This 25 acre site is a living history museum complete with lanes and pathways, farm animals, rail and stump fences, vegetable and herb gardens, and other authentic details of a 19th-century hamlet. Set between two historic mills (The Lang Grist Mill and Hope Saw Mill) the village is home to over 30 restored buildings from 1800-1900.

  • The Village is home to the S.W. Lowry Weaver Shop and Jacquard Loom Interpretive Centre featuring an original and reproduction Jacquard loom
  • The Lang Grist Mill (1846) is still in operation - where visitors can watch wheat ground into flour and take some home for baking
  • The museum runs a variety of Special events, workshops, and programming throughout the year
  • Curriculum-based educational programs are offered for school groups, day camp programs, and group tours
  • Home to the Peterborough County Agricultural Heritage Building, the site can also be rented for filming, weddings, reunions, meetings and private events
