| Description (Service) | COVID19 Office remains open, however, residents, clients, tenants and community partners are encouraged to postpone non-essential visits to the office. * Currently supporting all current clients and any new intakes over the phone requesting information through email, fax, text message or using the drop box at the building. A community-based program for those with low to moderate income that are not eligible for ongoing help through Ontario Works. Outreach workers meet those eligible in their community to discuss needs. * Assistance may be available for * Some dental services * Prescription drugs * Prescription eyeglasses * Applying for the shelter benefit for those who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless, or have difficulty paying utility bills. * Referrals to community services and offers information on available resources such as subsidies, special programs, and assistance navigating service systems. * Community Services division offers education opportunities to aide in community capacity building. The newest program offered is RentSmart, a free program designed for tenants, those who want to start renting, and also landlords. |
