Description (Service) Raises public awareness of adoption, promotes the placement of waiting children and stresses the importance of post adoption support. 
* Services include adoption resources, referral, education, and support for adoptees, birth families, and adoptive families 
* The ACC’s ongoing programs include: 
* Canada’s Waiting Children (CWC): a national photolisting service of children and youth currently in care of child welfare agencies across Canada, who are waiting for permanent adoptive families.  
* Heart Gallery of Canada: Travelling photographic exhibits in partnership with local agencies, that make the public and potential adoptive parents aware of children and youth waiting in foster care.  
* Youth Speak Out: a project launched in conjunction with NACAC and provincial adoption organizations, to bring youth together, to “speak out” about the impact of living in foster care, of being adopted or of aging out of the system without a family.  
* Journey Home: a project launched to educate stakeholders and general population on the experience of care for children and youth, and the importance of finding these children and youth permanency.  
* AdoptWalk: an annual fundraising event that began in fall 2009, in Ontario. This family event brings the adoption community together to help the ACC make a difference in the lives of the 1 in 5 Canadians touched by adoption.
