|Description (Service)||Toastmasters is a club of people of all ages; from all walks of life; who are working improving their communication and leadership skills. There are manuals that everyone works from which gives individuals the direction and information they need to prepare speeches which will be presented to the club members.
No experience in giving speeches or leading a group is required. You will have a buddy or mentor who will help you through each step of the way. You will have fun and learn in a positive, supportive environment.
The meetings are every Tuesday evening between 7:00 - 9:00 pm in the library at Central Senior School on the corner of Kent St and Albert St in Lindsay. Visitors are always welcome. Every week the meeting includes time for improvisational speaking during Table Topics. Every week the meeting includes prepared speeches. Everyone is there for the same reason -- to learn to enhance communication and leadership skills.
Interested in joining? Come to our meeting and watch and listen before you decide. Check us out!! We won't make you feel awkward or insist you stand up and speak unless you want to.
Today, you and I will push our fears away.
We will work together to help each other learn how to deliver a message --
to communicate in a clear, concise and confident manner.
Together we will set goals and achieve what we have only dreamed of achieving.
Today is the first day of your (new) Life!
