Description

Description (Service) The Children's Services Council is a non-profit agency funded by the Ministry of Children, Community and Social Services to provide service co-ordination and plan for children's services in the community.

Services include:
• Providing information about community services
• Making connections with resources
• Supporting holistic service plans
• Advocating

Participation within the program is strictly on a volunteer basis and confidentiality is respected. Parental involvement is welcomed and supported through the service process as families are encouraged to advocate on behalf of their child.

Social, healthcare or educational organizations within the City of Kawartha Lakes or Haliburton may refer a child with special needs. Parents or guardians may also connect for information or consultation.

Eligibility Individuals 18 years and under requiring assistance in meeting behavioural, developmental, emotional or physical needs.
