Family Skills Building and Support Services (12 week service): - for parents & caregivers
- parenting psycho-education and support group; in-home/in-office family support for those feeling overwhelmed and need support dealing with challenging behaviour and understanding the child's development

Brief Therapy (6 week service): - for children, youth and families
- provides Brief therapy a solution focused support, typically the first service that young people and their families engage in

Day Treatment (6 Day treatment): - for children & youth
- program helps participants who struggle with social, emotional & behavioral difficulties alongside mental health issues

Sexual Abuse Response Program (6 week service): - for children & youth and their non-offending caregivers
- Brief therapy service to address immediate presenting concerns and assess the need for longer-term therapy
- Referral Process:
- Referrals for this service may be initiated by the Kawartha Haliburton Children's Aid Society or a self-referral by contacting Chimo directly.

Crisis Intervention: - for youth or parents/caregivers
- Crisis support line operated Mon-Fri 9 am-5pm, providing a timely response to assist children, youth and families in urgent and imminent need and aims to stabilize the current crisis situation

Group-Based Services (8-10 week program): - for children and youth (from time to time groups for parents and caregivers are offered)
- series of planned sessions that are designed to address the identified needs and goals of the child/youth and their family; social skills building; developing coping skills; art therapy; etc

School-Based Services: - for students and their families who who are in attendance at the following school boards: Trillium Lakelands School Board; Peterborough Victoria Northumberland and Clarington Catholic School Board; Durham District School Board and Durham Catholic District School Board
- provides mental health supports to young people in schools; participate in group and/or individual counseling and therapy to address their needs and build on their strengths
- Referral Process:

Respite Services: - for families who live in the following areas: City of Kawartha Lakes; Haliburton; Simcoe County; York Region; Peterborough; Northumberland and Durham Region
- service is for families who have exhausted all other respite supports within their community

- Referrals for this program are not made directly through our agency; they are made through a local area Intensive Service Coordinator. If you are unsure who this is and how to make a referral, please contact Teresa Rye at (705) 324-3300 ext. 227 and she will assist you
Youth Court Support and Mental Health Diversion Program: - for youth ages 12-18 (less a day)
- Chimo's Youth Mental Health Court Worker (YMHCW) provides support to young people with identified or suspected mental health needs and that involved in the Youth Justice system within the City of Kawartha Lakes
- Referral Process:
- Should the courts determine or suspect that a youth has mental health needs that may be contributing to their conflict with the law, they may suggest a mental health diversion. In this instance, the worker will facilitate the development of a mental health diversion agreement, in collaboration with the Crown. This is done collaboratively working with the youth and their family to develop a plan to access and receive appropriate mental health services
The Arson Prevention Program for Children (TAPP-C): - for children and youth ages 2-17 years that may be starting fires or engaging in other forms of fire play
- TAPP-C Program assess the child/youth's potential risk of future fire involvement, to assess clinical concerns and to make treatment and safety recommendations

Live-In Treatment (24 hour care): - for youth ages 12-18 (two treatment centres 1 for male & 1 for female)
- youth who have been identified as requiring Live in treatment; who generally require more support than the less intrusive treatment options available in the community
- Referral Process:
- Live-In Treatment programs accept referrals from the following areas: City of Kawartha Lakes; Peterborough, Northumberland and Haliburton Counties; and Durham Region

Single Session Support: - for children & youth
- single session support provides timely assistance to individuals to address a single issue related to their social, emotional, and behavioral wellbeing
- Referral Process:
- to request a single session meeting. You will get a call back from a worker as soon as possible to set up an appointment.
