Description (Service) A volunteer committee appointed by the City of Kawartha Lakes council to assist and provide guidance on community heritage matters. In particular, it will review and establish criteria, and recommend candidate sites of historic value and interest for designation under the Ontario Heritage Act. Historic Designation is a method of recognizing, preserving and celebrating the heritage of the community through the protection of historically significant sites, buildings and structures.
