Duties

Assist with participant pre-evaluations and assessments 
Help with the set up and clean up of refreshments, games and activities 
Assist Minds in Motion Coordinator to ensure activity participation and socialization 
Under direction of the Physical Activity Program Leader, provide one-on-one support to participants during physical activity component of the program 
Assist with any other required task 
Complete a post evaluation form

Experience working with persons with dementia and their care partners 
Physical activity or therapeutic recreation background
Commitment Length Short Term (3 months or less) ; Three hours per week for 9 weeks 
30 minute set up, 2 hour program, 30 minute take down, clean up, de-brief 
Programs will eventually run 3 times per year - trained volunteers are encouraged to return to assist with programs held throughout the year
Interaction Level One-on-one ; Small Group ; Each Minds in Motion program will have a maximum of 22 participants: 11 persons living with dementia, 11 care partners
Minimum Hours 3 / Week
Accessibility Unknown - there will be access at the majority of locations ; Minds in Motion will be held at various community locations. Degree of accessibility is dependent upon the community location.

Opportunity to participate in Minds in Motion specific webinars scheduled throughout the year
Transportation Near public transit ; Driver License required ; Car required ; Volunteers must be able to access the location of the Minds in Motion program on their own.

Additional Requirements At the time of the interview, volunteers will be provided with the documentation that will enable them to obtain a Police Check.
