About Us:
The Betty de Jong Foundation is a brand-new non-profit organization dedicated to removing barriers for women and children who are experiencing domestic abuse.

We do this through a well vetted fostering model. Relying on responsible community members to temporarily foster pets, while their owners begin their journey to safety and independence.

It’s the foundation’s philosophy that living in a secure environment, free of violence is a fundamental human right, that’s why we are dedicated to supporting and empowering those who need our help.

As we embark on this exciting journey, we are looking for passionate individuals to join our team and help us build a strong online presence from the ground up.

Role Overview:
We are seeking a creative and motivated Volunteer Social Media Specialist to help us establish and grow our social media presence. This role is perfect for someone looking to gain experience in social media management while contributing to a meaningful cause. You will be responsible for creating and managing our social media accounts, developing engaging content, and building relationships with our online community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create and set up social media accounts across major platforms (e.g., Facebook, Instagram, X, LinkedIn).
  • Develop a content calendar and create posts that align with our mission and engage our audience.
  • Schedule and post content regularly across platforms.
  • Monitor social media channels and respond to comments and messages in a timely manner.
  • Engage with followers and build a supportive online community.
  • Track and report on social media performance and suggest improvements.

Qualifications:

  • Experience with social media platforms and tools (previous experience in social media management is a plus but not required).
  • Strong writing and communication skills.
  • Creative mindset with an eye for design and branding.
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative.
  • Passion for supporting women fleeing domestic violence.
  • Familiarity with social media analytics and reporting tools is a bonus.
