Duties•Proper handling and transportation of artifacts  
•Proper lighting and support of the artifacts in order to obtain the best photograph 
•Manipulation of the photograph with Photoshop as required 
•Re-sizing digital images as required

BenefitsThe Collections Photographer will use his/her skills to capture the artifacts in the Grey Roots collection, thereby documenting and allowing greater public access to the collection. This volunteer opportunity will build a sound understanding of the behind-the-scenes operation of a museum, will enable the development of photography skills, and will provide an opportunity to use specialized software. Upon completion of 20 hours of service annually, they and a guest may visit Grey Roots free of charge. They will receive a quarterly volunteer newsletter, discounts in the gift shop, insurance coverage while on duty and an annual recognition event.
ClientsMost of the daily interaction in this position will be between staff, both paid and volunteer.

Skills/Experience•Digital photography experience 
•Computer skills – familiar with digital cameras, scanners, and associated software, i.e. Adobe Photoshop 
•Candidate should be reliable, organized, and able to do repetitive tasks

•Ability to lift 50 kg, climb ladders, and have good hand-eye coordination 
•Attention to detail and accuracy 
•Ability to take direction and follow instructions 
•Willing to be bonded
