DutiesVolunteer Driver - Grey County 
To improve access for adults and families who need transportation assistance to and from cancer-related appointments, including hospital appointments, supportive care and follow-up appointments. 
 Respond to requests for client rides from the transportation Coordinator 
 Confirm travel arrangements with client(s) by phone 
 Offer minimal assistance to get clients in and out of the car (no lifting permitted) 
 Follow safe driving procedures 
 Become familiar with the programs and services provided by the Society and share these resources as needed 
 Submit required forms regularly 
 Provide up-to-date license and insurance information 
 Adhere to all Canadian Cancer Society policies, procedures, standards and guidelines including client confidentiality and our 100% smoke free policy 
Time Commitment: 
 Flexible scheduling 
 On average, one or two round trip(s) per week with a minimum of 4 hours per trip 
Requirements & Qualifications: 
 Valid G driver’s license with 3 or fewer demerit points and an acceptable driving record 
 Minimum of $1 million third party liability insurance on vehicle 
 Completion of a criminal reference check within acceptable standards 
 Enjoy Driving 
 Access to a well-maintained 100% smoke-free vehicle 
 Friendly, compassionate and sensitive to issues facing people living with cancer
