DutiesHockey Fights Cancer (November 2, 2019) - Volunteer Engagement Lead 
 
Volunteer Engagement Lead - you are responsible for recruiting volunteers for the day of the event. Working with fellow committee members, you determine how many event volunteers are needed and build a community outreach plan to engage volunteers. On the day of the event, you oversee volunteer schedules through volunteer sign-in, including the distribution of t-shirts, redirecting volunteers as needed, verifying of hours, and thanking volunteers for their time and energy. 
 
Hockey Fights Cancer is the new name for the annual charity hockey game held by the Owen Sound Attack and the Bluewater Community Office of the Canadian Cancer Society. The event raised funds for cancer research, vital services, and support programs for those living with cancer. 
 
Planning and organizing Hockey Fights Cancer takes time, passion and creative thinking. With support from volunteers and the organization’s staff, you will be a part of something truly extraordinary in your community. Success depends on volunteers like you. With your community insight, you will raise awareness, encourage participation, and drive fundraising results.
