DutiesTraditionally, the Sweetwater Festival was a one weekend event that attracted thousands of people to the Wye Marsh to enjoy the first harvest of the year. Now, the Friends of the Wye Marsh are reimagining their maple syrup program, to provide enriching experiences without attracting large crowds.
If provincial regulations allow, visitors will have the chance to walk the trails, see different sap collecting methods, and learn about maple syrup production throughout the ages. Participants will have an opportunity to visit an active modern day sugar shack, taste fresh roasted bannock, and hear traditional Legends on how maple syrup came to be.
Assist the Wye Marsh with various aspects of the "Sweetwater" Program, duties include:
  • Selling tickets
  • Creating take-home craft kits
  • Sharing our natural history onsite with visitors
