As the Participant Engagement Lead, you will be the first line of communication for new and returning individual participants and team captains. Familiarization with the fundraising tools and resources available to individuals and team captains will make you better equipped to understand their needs. Going the extra mile to make your participants feel special will make for the most rewarding experience! Communication through email and phone with past and current participants/team captains, coaches them and thanks them for their commitment to the cause. At the committee meeting your excitement about participation in the event will have others engaging their networks in teams as well. Collaborating with the Registration Lead, the two of you will ensure all t-shirt orders for teams are coordinated and the t-shirt pickup event is led.

Duties will depend on each agencies’ current projects and priorities but may include the following: 
1. In a friendly manner, greet visitors and direct them to the appropriate agency. Answer questions regarding all four agencies. Call appropriate agency to announce visitors. 
2. Direct couriers with packages to the appropriate agency. When appropriate, receive and sign packages from couriers and bring packages back to the appropriate staff. 
3. Sort incoming mail according to each agency and deliver to each agency. Assist with outgoing mail: ensure mail is picked up when postman delivers mail. 
4. Maintain the levels of brochures in reception area displays. Restock from reception storage. Notify appropriate agency when more stock is needed. Maintain bulletin boards in reception area. 
5. Maintain the general tidiness of the waiting area, including the children’s area. Wipe children’s toys on a regular basis. 
6. Inform appropriate staff when front desk supplies are low so supplies can be replenished. 
7. Review communications log each day. Make entries to the communications log, as needed. 
8. Inform visitors of ShopCNIB store days and hours (Tuesdays and Thursdays, 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.) if they inquire about the CNIB store. 
9. Keep an eye out for disoriented visitors outside. People are often confused by what door to come in and may need guidance. Assist them when possible. 
10. Respond to questions regarding room bookings. 
11. Assist staff with set up of shared meeting spaces as required. 
12. Assist staff with opening and closing of the building.

Parkinson Canada is looking for a Walk Coordinator to oversee the coordination and execution of Parkinson SuperWalk Barrie.  
Responsibilities:  
• Promote Parkinson SuperWalk within your community through available channels and liaise with appropriate government officials to invite them to walk day.  
• Work with volunteer committee to assist in planning, promotion and day-of execution. 
• Attend committee meetings and work with committee volunteers ensure appropriate orientation of day-of volunteer coverage. 
• Track and report on volunteer hours.  
• Approach local businesses and organizations for sponsorship dollars and/or prize donations.  
• Work with volunteers to coordinate services needed for the day-of (which may include: venue, entertainment, food and drink, guest speakers, supplies, etc.).  
• Collect and report on the funds that were raised.  
• Ensure necessary inventory is ordered from Parkinson Canada.  
• Attend monthly (March to June) and bi weekly (July to September) conference calls with all Community Walk Coordinators. Be onsite on the day of the event to facilitate a successful event. Must be available for Parkinson SuperWalk Barrie on September 8th, 2019 at Heritage Park.

The Interpretation Volunteer supports Lang Pioneer Village Museum by learning and interpreting early 19th-century rural Ontario lifestyles to visitors. Costumed interpreter enact daily living within the village and demonstrate historic trades or crafts. Interpreters may specialize in the history and activities of a particular building or trade or craft and in this way bring an expertise to the work that they do within the village. Volunteers interpret during regular days in the village, at special events, and for school tours. 
 
Key Responsibilities:  
* Learn historical information relating to placement within the village. 
* Interpret daily living in a 19th-century rural Ontario community. 
* Demonstrate historic trades or crafts. 
* Teach history in an informal, peaceful setting to the public. 
* Wear a period costume and be responsible for care and general cleaning of assigned costume. 
* Provide excellent customer service to visitors.
