Hope Haven Therapeutic Riding Centre
Markdale, ON
Leaders: Leaders are in charge of leading our horses during lessons. The leader is focused on the horse and making sure they are both happy and content during lessons. They also get the horse ready before lessons.

Side Walkers: Side Walkers are in charge of the rider and making sure that the rider is safe and secure during their lesson.

Schoolers : Schoolers are in charge of helping us to keep our horses exercised, trained and fit! A schooler should be out regularly to ride and school one or more horses. Schoolers have a procedure to follow and will be in communication with our instructors regarding the horses needs and areas of focus. Of course, we encourage our schoolers to love up their horses and show them all the appreciation and attention they deserve! (It's basically part boarding a horse without having to pay so win- win for everyone!)

Alternate: Alternate volunteers are focused on assisting with the facilitation of activities with our kids. These activities can include sledding, yoga, sports, creative arts, educational hikes etc.

Horse Buddies: Horse buddies are people who help take care of our horses by coming out to groom them, perform a health check and of course, show them affection.

These are just a few of our main activities, however there is a ton of other activities where we could use your help! Gardening, odd jobs, building etc (just to name a few).
