MidlandWe are looking for people who are interested in visiting with seniors in a long-term care home who do not have local family or friends that are able to visit often, providing friendship, conversation, and reassurance. Position Summary: Assists with providing meaningful contributions to the residents and the Home under the direction of the Coordinator of Volunteer Services. Core Competencies:

Qualifications:
- A sincere interest in the general well-being of the residents in the Home.
- Comfort working in a communal setting for seniors.
- Physically able to push wheelchairs, move tables (with assistance) etc. (if applicable)

- Ability to follow directions and work with others
As a board member, you will help shape the garden’s future: set strategic goals, guide fundraising, champion outreach, and ensure the garden remains an inclusive, eco‑friendly space for all. Your voice will influence programming, partnership development, and stewardship of this important community space.
The Bruce Botanical Food Garden is one of only two spaces in Canada with that designation. There is one acre full of over 250 different food plants, with room to grow in every way. We have space to physically expand and our education and food security programs also have strong growth potential with the right team.

Volunteers required for assisting at activity programs:
- Special events

Outside maintenance such as snow shoveling, lawn cutting, gardening, painting etc.
Indoor maintenance would require cleaning inside the museum at the blacksmith shop, fire hall and concession stand.

- In early spring (typically late April/early May) volunteers are needed to help plant tree seedlings in the Severn Sound watershed.
- Site locations vary from year to year.
