CIBC Run for the Cure - As the Volunteer Engagement Lead, you are responsible for recruiting volunteers for events leading up to the Run and on Run weekend, which takes place on Oct 6, 2019. Working with fellow committee members, you determine how many event volunteers are needed and build a community outreach plan to engage volunteers. Through the management of your location’s Run volunteer email account, driving registration of volunteers on the website, and giving updates to the committee at each meeting, you will excel in your role. On Run Day, you oversee volunteer schedules through volunteer sign-in, the distribution of t-shirts, redirecting volunteers as needed, verifying of hours, and thanking volunteers for their time and energy. Support and training on our online volunteer management software will be provided.

Volunteers who are accepted would work under a Lead who would coordinate their activities. Volunteers would work primarily on their own from their homes. Meetings would tend to be held by conference call though occasional live meetings can be expected. 
 
Volunteers will identify funding organizations that support projects related to: 
• Species-at-risk 
• Wildlife rehabilitation, conservation and education 
• Bio-diversity and the environment 
 
They will pre-qualify KTTC programs by reviewing the funder's requirements and funding proposal guidelines. The volunteer will then make recommendations to the Lead and they may be asked to draft funding proposals. Assistance and training on completing funding proposals will be available.

Reporting Structure:

The Historical Research Volunteer supports Lang Pioneer Village Museum’s public and educational programming and exhibit design in order to authentically recreate, as accurately as possible, the rural history of Peterborough County. Research conducted by the Historical Research Volunteer will expand the knowledge base for interpreters in the village enabling them to relay to the visitors interesting information and stories relating to the artifacts and local history. 
 
Key Responsibilities:  
•Expanding the base of interesting and relevant historical information for staff and interpreters at the village 
•Stimulates interpretation in the village by researching and providing stories of local relevance 
•Sourcing local and national historic documents through library, archival and internet searches, in order to fulfill needs relating to upcoming special events or demonstrations & exhibits 
•Research documents should be sourced from primary and secondary sources and final documentation should include references of sources
