MidlandVolunteers will assist with a community prom event for adults with disabilities living at Participation Lodge and Grey-Bruce area. Roles may include:
- Hair, Makeup & Styling Support: Assisting residents with hair styling, makeup, nails, and getting ready for the event (based on volunteer comfort and skill level)
- Photography & Video: Capturing photos and short videos of residents during the “getting ready” process and throughout the prom itself
- Set‑Up & Take‑Down: Helping prepare the space before the event (decorating, arranging tables, etc.) and assisting with clean‑up afterward
- Event Support: Supporting staff with other tasks as needed to ensure a smooth, safe, and enjoyable event
All volunteers will be supervised by staff at all times, and will be assigned roles based on their interests, skills, and comfort level.
We are looking for people who are interested in visiting with seniors in a long-term care home who do not have local family or friends that are able to visit often, providing friendship, conversation, and reassurance. Position Summary: Assists with providing meaningful contributions to the residents and the Home under the direction of the Coordinator of Volunteer Services. Core Competencies:

Qualifications:
- A sincere interest in the general well-being of the residents in the Home.
- Comfort working in a communal setting for seniors.
- Physically able to push wheelchairs, move tables (with assistance) etc. (if applicable)
- Good listening skills
- Ability to follow directions and work with others
- Provide regular visits to assigned older adult clients, offering companionship, conversation & engagement in meaningful activities
- Perform regular outbound phone calls to assigned older adult clients
- Report any health or safety concerns to the Supervisor
- Provide monthly activity reports to Supervisor
Help Senior Wish expand into Simcoe County to ensure that no senior is left isolated, alone and feeling like society has forgotten them. Help is especially needed to prepare for our Christmas Wish program starting in September.

MUSCIAL VOLUNTEERS NEEDED FOR OUR ADULT DAY PROGRAM. IF YOU SING, OR PLAY AN INSTRUMENT AND HAVE A HOUR A WEEK/MONTH TO COME AND ENTERTAIN OUR CLUB MEMBERS AT THE VON ADULT DAY PROGRAM IN COLLINGWOOD.
We need volunteers to assist at our Cycle For Hope fundraiser, we have a number of volunteer positions that need to be filled:
Volunteer Roles:
1. Set-up and tear down
Role Duties
- Help set up the event site
- Put up tables, tents and banners
- Clean up and put everything away once the ride is complete
2. Registration
Role Duties
- Welcome and register the rider
- Provide rider with appropriate wristband and instruct them to place it on and that it will be used as their lunch voucher after their ride.
3. Route Directions/Nutrition Station
Role Duties:
- Ensure that riders are on the right track and making correct turns
- As Riders approach you, either point or vocalize where they are going and cheer them on!
- Offer fruit and waters that is available for Riders
- When the ride is complete on your way back - do a quick sweep of any riders along the way
