Turtle Taxi Drivers   Northumberland County  Peterborough County
Ontario Turtle Conservation Centre
Peterborough, and various other locations across Ontario if willing and available.
Kawartha Turtle Trauma Centre (KTTC) is seeking volunteer drivers who are willing to assist with transport of native turtles that have been injured on Ontario's roadways. While many drives are located within the Kawarthas, KTTC is now becoming more widely recognized and we are receiving calls from all over Ontario. We often use a relay system to transport turtles to the centre to receive the emergency medical care that they require. Volunteers are added to a contact list and need only to respond when contacted if they are available to do the drive.

Interested volunteers do not need to have any experience with turtles to apply, but must have access to a vehicle.

Work can be done from home via email and phone, most events will be held in the Peterborough area.
With the support of the board of directors, the fund-raising committee is responsible for leading the development of fundraising initiatives for the Kawartha Turtle Trauma Centre. Volunteers are needed to assist with fund-raising projects such as raffles, special events, sales. The centre currently raises funds through special events, online donations, and sales of promotional items. Ability to work with other volunteers is essential. Past experience with not-for-profit organizations, experience in fundraising, marketing, event management and media relations are assets, but enthusiasm for a great cause is paramount.
