We seek a Social Media Manager based in the Simcoe-North area.  This volunteer position is likely to last 2 months or longer pending the student interest.  It is also highly likely that the student volunteer would gain great experience from the Digital Marketing aspect of the work as well as the electoral process, managing volunteers, team engagement, transformational change, building a data base, and a host of other intangibles.  It is also highly likely this engagement would result in significant KPI results to add to any resume.   I'm the Federal Green Party Candidate for Simcoe North and in the very early stages of beginning the campaign.  Obviously, a federal election has not yet been called.  Although, we do expect the call to come soon.   This is an immediate start with significant flexibility in terms of hours and commitment. This volunteer position is responsible for the development, writing and deployment of social media and web-site content.

• Work with the executive team to write content for website and social media, print, and community engagement

• Keep abreast of web-site trends and provide recommendations. 

• Help write general communications, articles and media releases

• Solicit content from community partners 

• Liaise with web hosting company for revisions and updates to pages

• Provide direction for website domain and maintenance

• Act as Administrator for Age-Friendly Orillia website

This is a remote volunteer position supporting the Guelph-Wellington Community. All shifts and training are completed remotely, therefore, residence in Guelph-Wellington is not a requirement for this position.

Responsibilities:

• Complete inbound and outbound calls with service users residing in the county
• Complete safety/wellness checks, provide medication reminders, and engage in social conversations with vulnerable populations
• Assist with crisis intervention, when presented
• Utilize a strengths-based, solution-focused approach
• Provide external resources and referrals to service users 
• Complete case documentation of all interactions with service users
