Duties vary depending on choice of activities and individual interests and skills. Participate in monthly committee meetings, plan and carry out promotional and organizational tasks such as creating brochures, posters, media releases, selling tickets, booking space, refreshments/food, entertainment, speakers, setting up facilities for the event, assisting with specific tasks at the events (greeters, MC, set up of chairs...), preparing information packages and programmes, etc.

Up to 3 volunteers needed to assist KTTC Board members/Volunteer Coordinator with researching and writing funding proposals to fund-granting organizations. 
 
Volunteers who are accepted would work under a Lead who would coordinate their activities. Volunteers would work primarily on their own from their homes. Meetings would tend to be held by conference call though occasional live meetings can be expected. 
 
Volunteers will identify funding organizations that support projects related to: 
• Species-at-risk 
• Wildlife rehabilitation, conservation and education 
• Bio-diversity and the environment 
 
They will pre-qualify KTTC programs by reviewing the funder's requirements and funding proposal guidelines. The volunteer will then make recommendations to the Lead and they may be asked to draft funding proposals. Assistance and training on completing funding proposals will be available.

• Self-directed.

Reporting Structure: 
The Grant Research and Proposal Subcommittee reports to the Fund-raising Committee through the Fund-raising Committee Chair.

Work can be done from home via email and phone, most events will be held in the Peterborough area.
With the support of the board of directors, the fund-raising committee is responsible for leading the development of fundraising initiatives for the Kawartha Turtle Trauma Centre. Volunteers are needed to assist with fund-raising projects such as raffles, special events, sales. The centre currently raises funds through special events, online donations, and sales of promotional items. Ability to work with other volunteers is essential. Past experience with not-for-profit organizations, experience in fundraising, marketing, event management and media relations are assets, but enthusiasm for a great cause is paramount.

In addition to your role with media/social media there may be some distribution of marking materials required.
