The Orillia Chapter Council is currently seeking applications from interested volunteers to join their Chapter Council team. The council acts collaboration with the staff and volunteer team,to develop and implement strategies that will support the achievement of Areas Office goals.The group acts as Ambassadors of the Heart and stroke Foundation,they share unique skills, experiences and perspectives in providing leadership to the local chapter and engage others in the community. Canvassers   Simcoe County

We are looking for volunteers interested in helping us out with canvassing door to door in their neighborhood during the month of February. If you have 3-4 hours to give during the month of February please contact us. Or if you don't like canvassing we are always looking for captains to co-ordinate and lead canvassers in their area.

Purpose: In collaboration with the Heart Month Area Coordinator, will support the local office in implementing identified volunteer development priorities  
 
Responsibilities may include:  
 
*Will support captain and canvasser recruitment  
*Develop and implement a volunteer recruitment plan based on identified needs  
*Volunteer intake, placement and orientation  
*Will support planning of training and orientation events

Purpose: Builds and organizes a strong team of Canvassers to deliver a successful Heart Month Campaign in a defined geographical area.  
 
Responsibilities may include:  
•Represents HSF within their geographical zone  
•September/October, attend a Captain’s meeting to conduct a needs analysis, problem solve and discuss contingency planning activities  
•January, personally invite volunteers to a training/orientation, hand deliver kits to volunteers who are unable to attend the training  
•February, mid-month calls to canvassers to motivate them to complete their route  
•March, collect all the kits and deliver them to the office  
•Summer months, call canvassers and recruit for next campaign  
•Stay in contact with Area Office throughout the year to provide volunteer updates
