Make a Difference in a Child's life, Become an In-home Volunteer Angel!

Do you want to support families living with cancer? Are you willing to commit 4 hours of in home support per week to a child in need? Join Nankind as we lessen the impact of cancer on families through our in home support programs.

Nankind offers rewarding volunteer positions for those who are looking to make a difference in the lives of families.

In home Volunteer Angels provide childcare support for parents who have been diagnosed with cancer, for those requiring palliative care, and for families requiring additional relief during the bereavement period to help reduce any stress or anxiety they may be experiencing due to their parent’s illness or death.

By meeting weekly, building trust, and having fun, our Angels help parents gain the confidence and peace of mind to rest or attend medical appointments, knowing their children are cared for and supported by knowledgeable and compassionate volunteers.

Our Angels receive specialized training and the support of NAN’s Child Life Specialist throughout their volunteering time.

Fundraising Volunteer - Guider Donation Dog Program   Simcoe County
Canadian Guide Dogs for the Blind
Orillia

Canadian Guide Dogs for the Blind is seeking volunteers to help with our local fundraising efforts in Orillia.
Our Guider Donation Dog program has operated in cities and towns across Canada for nearly 40 years, and continues to raise much needed funds that impact the lives of visually impaired Canadians in your community.

Volunteers will take care of and collect from 4 donation dogs currently in place at local businesses in Orillia. Collections take place 3-4 times per year, as fits the volunteer's schedule. Once collected, volunteers will deposit the funds at their local RBC branch.

Our flexible volunteer program is great for seniors, and those with busy lives that still want to contribute in a way that fits their schedule. Set your own hours and volunteer where and when it is convenient for you!

If you are interested in joining our Guider program in your community, send us an email at events@guidedogs.ca today!

Volunteer Literacy Tutor for Adult Students   Simcoe County
Barrie Literacy Council, Barrie - Bradford St

Volunteer tutors are needed to help adults to improve their reading, writing, math and digital skills.

NOTE: We ask potential tutors to commit for one year so that they can come alongside a student for that length of time - once students make the decision to improve their skills, they need a tutor who is willing to work with them to increase not only their knowledge but their confidence and self esteem.
