City Transit Service

Provide your feedback on the Transportation Master Plan.

The City is updating Barrie's Transportation Master Plan, addressing future growth. The plan will recommend improvements for active transportation, transit, trails, and roads. The first Public Information Centre meeting will take place on November 14. Learn more and get involved!

Service Details

Public Comments Phase 1 of the New Transit Network will launch on June 2, 2024. The new Network will offer riders a route plan that introduces express, frequent, local and Transit ON Demand routes. See Barrie Transit New Transit Network for details.
Hours
  • Transit Services operate from approximately 5:30 am-12:30 am Mon-Sat, Sun service remains hourly from approximately 9 am-11 pm
  • Transit Terminal Hours: Mon-Sat 7 am-10 pm, Sun 9 am-10 pm
  • Barrie Transit does not operate on the following holidays: New Year's Day, Good Friday, Easter Sunday, Victoria Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas Day
  • Special service is provided on Canada Day, Civic Holidays, Boxing Day and Labour Day, service schedules vary, watch for special service postings on Transit Service Notices

  • All passes and ride cards can be purchased at Service Barrie (City Hall, 1st floor), any of the City's three recreation centres or at the Downtown Bus Terminal (24 Maple Ave)

  • Family Day Pass: Group of 4 or less, max 2 Adults/Seniors/Students. Valid and for purchase on the day of travel at the terminal and on Conventional buses - $10/day
  • Adult Monthly Pass Ages 19- 64 - $91/month
  • Student Monthly Pass Ages 13+ - $69.75/month
  • Senior Monthly Pass Ages 65+ - $53/month
